Our Story

Mark and Mira founded and planted Radiance Christian Church in San Francisco in the fall of 2012. As they were building up the ministries within the church they began to have a desire to see a church planted in the East Bay sometime in the future. They continued to be faithful and focus on serving and growing the SF church and never imagined that desire would come to fruition the way it did. After coming back from their sabbatical in 2023, they (including the SF leadership) recognized that more and more UC-Berkeley students were coming out to the church services in San Francisco. They felt that might be a sign to start praying and discovering again that desire God put in their hearts. One thing led to another, and in 2025, after a year of prayer and seeking God’s will, the leadership at Radiance SF felt called to start a new ministry in Berkeley. That fall, Mark and Mira felt the invitation from God and said yes to planting Radiance East Bay to continue to carry on the original vision and mission that God gave the church when they first started in San Francisco 14 years ago: to advance the gospel of Christ from the city to the world. The hope and prayer is that God will move powerfully and transform the lives of many as Radiance East Bay makes spirit-filled disciples who passionately desire to know Jesus Christ and to make Him known.
